Ryan Velin

I make films with generative AI, and I write down how.

Editor and head of post-production with 12 years in Danish broadcast television. I work across image, video and audio models, from script to final mix, and I document every workflow so other people can repeat it.

Work

How a film gets made

  1. Screenplay

Story first. Structure, character and scene goals are settled on the page before any image exists.

  2. Asset list

Every character, wardrobe, prop and location is designed and locked as a tagged reference.

  3. Blocking

Each scene gets a floor plan, so geography holds when the camera goes wide.

  4. Shot prompts

One prompt per shot, written in film language, always fed the same references in the same order.

  5. Edit and mix

Selects, pacing, sound design and finish in Final Cut Pro. Weak shots are regenerated, not hidden.

About

I helped build an in-house post-production department from nothing and have co-led it since, across reality, entertainment and factual series for Danish television. That is where my eye comes from: performance, pacing, light, sound and continuity, judged under deadline.

I also build the tools around the work. A logging app used on a running reality series, retrieval search across interview archives, and teaching material on everything from HDR to AI screenwriting. If a workflow is worth using twice, I write it down.
